David
Smith was a teen when he began his dynamic career as guitarist for the Oak Ridge Boys.
His God-given talent was recognized at that young age as he was nominated for a Dove Award
for Instrumentalist of the Year by the GMA. David is also known as "Little David Smith" by
many as he started his career at age 13. Since then he has played and sang in over 27 different
countries.
Having
performed on many television shows throughout the U. S., he was also a regular on the Grand
Ole Opry for sixteen years. David was lead guitarist for "Jumpin' Bill Carlile"
and various other artists on the Opry. David plays many styles including the Travis and
Atkins finger style. He is termed a "guitar players, guitar player"! He and wife Carrie
sing beautifully also! They are top class entertainers, but they present more than just
entertainment -- it comes from their soul and spirit !
David's
wife, Carrie, a graduate from Millikin University School of Music, Decatur, Illinois; began singing at a very early age. Carrie grew up singing and playing for various country music shows and organizations. After moving to Nashville in 1993, she met David and they were married in 1994.
David
played on Willie Nelson’s latest project and he and Carrie have both recorded with the legendary rocker Leon Russell, who was just inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
David's
wife, Carrie, a graduate from Millikin University School of Music,
Decatur, Illinois; now joins him in his crusade for Christ. Raised
in a Christian home, Carrie grew up singing and playing for various
churches and organizations. After singing country music for twelve
years, the Lord began to pull her in the direction of the ministry.
Now, Carrie, with her voice, saxophone, keyboard, bass guitar,
and guitar, lifts up the name of the Lord with music.
