I'm sure you have tried them but if not i think peavey makes a really good bass amp that is really versitile, sounds good and costs less than a 1000 dollars. You might check one out. Cool

I have never used the effects pedal you are describing (bass pod from Line 6) but I sure would like to sometime. I have seen them. Anyway, when purchasing an amp, go test out amps at your local music store using your bass and pedal. This will ensure that you get the sound you like and the sound that are looking for. I play with Hartke (cabinet has 4 10" speakers). I used to play Peavey, with one 15" speaker, 10 band EQ and built in chorus. It sounded great, although when I switched to this new amp, I found that I could reach other sounds with just a small adjustment of the EQ or setting on the bass itself.
One thing that I really enjoy tweaking with is compression. If you like doing a little grunge or slap, adjusting the compression depth is a trick and a treat.
Let me know how your bass amp hunting comes out. Again, take your own equipment while testing the amps. Don't be afraid to turn the amp up so that you can get the real sound.

I have played a Carvin, but it was a few years ago. I am sure that the sound has improved a little since then. I am open to ideas of guitars. I used to play Ibanez and had done this for years. I then bought my Yamaha and must say it has been a great bass. Technology is bringing out so many great sounds out of the new style of bass guitars and it has given me a terrible itch to by something new. Do you know what I mean.

By the way, if you know anybody looking for a Bass Guitar, I am trying to sale mine. I am asking $400.00. My cell number is 918-231-9951 if you know anybody who is interested.

Mike

I play a 5 string carvin I orderd from there custom shop it is a LB 75 P-series with a quilted maple top with a transparent red finish and a 5 piece maple/koa neck it has pizo pickups for each string in the bridge. it has 18 volt active passive electronics with a boost and trim pot for each string plus boost and trim pots for the active electronics and the passive electronics.

I might get me a acoustic 5-string bass later on.
